10 Journal Prompts for Deep Feelings
Full Journal prompt list at the end.
I'm "Too Sensitive."
I'm "too sensitive" and I love that about myself. An optimist. Wide-eyed dreamer.
The older I get, the more I realize I am so, so grateful for my sensitivity. It connects me with the world, and makes me feel at home in my body. And while not everyone understands why I love to feel things deeply, I know that it makes me who I am.
And I wouldn't give that up for anything.
Today I wanted to share 10 journal prompts for deeply feeling people.
For the people who want to sink down into their feelings like a hot bubble bath. Let's get cozy.
How to Use These Prompts
These prompts are intended to be completed in one session, each prompt getting deeper than the last.
Don't think too much. Just write. Think while you're writing.
Let it flow like a stream of consciousness.
Journal Prompts
Try to answer in order if you can, within one session.
- Reflect on the last 7 days. Brain dump everything you can remember doing.
- List out 3 things you did that made you smile- even if it's as simple as petting your cat in the morning or listening to your favorite song. Let yourself sink into the memory and remember that joy follows you everywhere you go.
- Take one of those things that made you smile. When was the last time you did that activity? Do you do it often, or not often enough?
- Are you someone who makes more time for yourself, or someone who makes more time for others? Why do you think that is?
- If you were your own best friend, is there anything you would say to yourself about the way you spend your time?
- What does self care look like to you?*
- Do you feel like you have control over your schedule and your time? Why or why not?
- If you had a magic wand, and you could change your life into anything in the world- what would your day tomorrow look like? No responsibilities. No pressure. Just you and pure freedom. (Let yourself get lost in this- journal it out in excruciating detail)
- Is there anything within that fantasy you can bring into your life this coming week? Even if it's something small- your ideal mindset, attitude, clothing, snack, or favorite drink?
- Write a thank you note to yourself from one week ago. Remember that you carried yourself through every single one of your hard days.
*PS: I have another blog post about What Is Self Care? Coming soon. I think you'll love it.
Wishing you love and light. I hope you always remember to look for the Small Joys. Until next time.
Love, Jen.
